Bridge to Teribithia

Bridge To Terabithia, written by Katherine Patterson, is one of the most interesting book you will ever read. It tells how two different kids of different genders become best friends. The character I’m most like in the book is Jess Aarons. He sticks up for his friend, Leslie, and doesn’t bully people, but gets bullied. This book is about a kid named Jess who meets this new girl in school who beats him in running at recess. They find out they are neighbors and then one day they talk and run together to a place where no one has gone. They call this place Terabithia. They make armies, trolls, and make up names that include bullies. Jess goes out of town without permission with his teacher. Then Jess heard crying in his house. He had never told his mom that he was leaving. His sister said’‘Jess, your friends dead. And Momma thought you were dead to’‘. He didn’t believe it at first. They find out that Leslie was being cremated and he didn’t like that one bit. He dumped out all the stuff that she gave him in a lake. But, his little sister follows him to Terabithia. He tells her to go away and get lost and she ran straight to their dad. She told him what happened and he talked to Jess. After the talk, Jess made his little sister the Queen of Terabithia.

My favorite character in this book is Leslie. Because she loves adventures and fun.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules!

This book is about a young middle schooler named: Greg Huffley. He is a underachieving, middle son in his family. He is almost everyday tormented by his older brother, Rodrick. He is a drummer for a Heavy Metal band which is probably the worst band ever!

The character I like the best in this book is Rodrick. I like him because i love the drums ans I like to mess with my little brothers and my older sister too.

I would relate to Greg because on my mom's side of my family, I'm the middle child so I know what it feels like just like him.

Honoring Mandela

As former South Africa President, Nelson Mandela, and his wife, Graca Machel Mandela, look at a 9-foot bronze statue of himself in London, England, South African's gaze and adore the statue along with shouting for joy. Nelson Mandela is among Britain's most respected heroes, along with Abraham Lincoln and Winston Chuchill. Nelson Mandela thinks of it as a symbol for all those who resisted oppression. Nelson Mandela also said that in 1962 that he and several other South Africans fled to London inearch of money, training, and support.

Nelson Mandela is one of my admirers. After I read online about him, he just changed my views about presidents.

The Well

This book is about a boy named David and his older brother, Hammer. Hammer doesn’t like ‘white folk’ taking their water from their well. Their well is the only non-dry well due to a drought in their part of Mississippi. The one white boy that he hates the most is Charlie Simms. He’s so ignorant towards the Logan family (David and Hammer’s family). He doesn’t even show any respect for David’s mother because of the racial era. But, Mr. Melbourne was different. He actually became friends with the Logan family. He probably noticed that they were colored, but he still liked them. They didn’t mind giving water to him, but the Simmses were different. They look at you funny and show not even 1/4 of respect to any colored people. Charlie (who’s 14) has a 13 year old younger brother named Ed Rose. He’s a real pottymouth when around Hammer and David. Their mom, Caroline Logan, didn’t like the Simmses either, but she didn’t mind sharing what she was blessed with.

How to Eat Fried Worms

How to Eat Fried Worms
By Thomas Rockwell

Before I say anything your probably wonder how do you eat fried worms? You can eat them fried, boiled, or boiled, then fried in cornmeal smothered in ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and Horseradish. A boy named Billy and his friends, Joe, Alan, and Tom, made a bet to see if Billy could eat fifteen worms, one each day.

It all started one day when the posse of friends were making bets that they could do all of these things. Then Alan and Joe told Billy," Bet you can't eat fifteen worms.", and Billy said," I could.", and that's how "the bet" started. The bet was to see if Billy could eat fifteen worms in fifteen days, one each day, and the loser has to pay the winner fifty dollars.

The character that I like the best is Tom. He's mischievous and funny always poking out behind corners thinking that no one could see him.

This book is so good that I would recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor or justs wants a good laugh of gross out. This book, I would especially recommend to teachers to put in their class library so that their students could go pick out and read or the teacher can read the book out loud and the students will laugh and say,"eww".

This book is a funny, gross out comedy that everyone can enjoy.

The Taliband

War in Afghanistan. What do you do to entertain your self and your troop? Well you could start a band like the Taliband. The Taliband's members are: Ian: rhythm guitar, "Face": Bass, JD: lead guitar, Bill: Drums, Timmy: Lead Vocals. The Taliband are a cover band in the middle east. What they did was bring some instruments with them and form a band together. Just the group of five. The band hopes to have some originals soon and play when they come back home.
